front side lights/ parking/driving light.
Hi.
re:- my "M" reg 850 SE estate The front side lights that are on all the time the ignition is on, work o.k when the ignition is on:-) They do not come on when the ignition is off but the light switch is turned to side lights. The headlights work o.k and the fuses are o.k (no 23&24 I think. The rear side lights are woking o.k Is there a relay somewhere. Also in England, which is the best source for a workshop manual. Try the tiny switch under the man lighting switch, needs a flat blade and changes the lighting modes.

RE: front side lights/ parking/driving light.
The slotted switch referred to above has no effect on the parking lights, only the 3 modes for the day running lights. Your parking lights should work if you turn the light switch to the first position (about 10 o'clock) and they should certainly be on when the rear lights are. The diagram that I have for a Tdi doesn't show a relay in the parking light circuit, only for the headlights. Maybe someone has the correct wiring diagram for your model and year???
Your best bet for info is probably the correct Haynes manual from Halfords or direct http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/s...category=10001 Hope you have success in tracing the problem Jim |
