Yea no problem mate, I won't be doing it till next year mind but the wheels are turning, not sure if I will splash out for that version though, I did find one for £40 but it only has two inputs, one video and one that takes photo's every minute or so, I would love to have a 4 input one though, front, rear and one looking down each side.

Was thinking of putting some sort of circuit on it to power it for 5 minutes or something after turning off.

You recon this would work? it's 4 channel, 12v but no car adaptor. shouldn't be that hard to wire in provided it doesn't try to draw too much power, may need to use a relay and a wire straight from the battery.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The only problem you will have (from what I learnt) was none of the home CCTV systems automatically record on power up. If your looking to do it in a year or so it might be worth leaving it and investing a little money. Here's a 4ch recorder that I was talking about

It depends how much you want to invest. You could make a good set up for under £200 if you wanted. I would spend the most money on the central brain of the system and then you can change the cameras all you want!

Agreed,

I think it would be better to save a few quid and do a proper job, will more than likely get it done in the new year at some point, now I have a temp camera this will go lower down the list of things that need to be done.

Cheers for the link, added to my watch list for now.
