Question V50 Feeling Sluggish

Hi folks, need a little help before a fork out money.

I bought myself a 2010 Volvo V50 R Design and everything has been great with it. 65200 miles on the clock with full service history, the last service being carried out just 2500 miles ago.

Slight worry now though. Since I bought it, it has been starting no problem what so ever, been quick off the mark and nigh impossible to stall but just recently when starting it in the morning it likes to kick out some white smoke just for a few seconds and then the smoke clears. It also seems to be quite sluggish in pulling off up until about 2000 revs when the turbo (I assume) comes in but up until then there doesn't seem to be a kick about it anymore. I have also noticed that when I keep my foot on the accelerator in 3 gear and keep it a 30mph you can feel a real gentle but repeated shudder, almost kick every cycle like it's missing a beat. Finally, and it may just be my paranoia because of all this but my fuel seems to be drunk a lot faster than when I first got it as well.

It has 65k on the clock and the glow plugs have never been changed. Could this be the issue by any chance? What are your thoughts?

I don't know much about diesels but aren't glow plugs just for when the engine is starting?

From looking at Google results it says that one of the causes of white smoke on startup can be burnt glow plugs hence why I was thinking that.

It is sounding throttle body or EGR related to me. The other possibility is TCV.
