  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

Well they're good and trusted, used them for a long time so I won't bother insulting them by telling them to check the pulleys then :P Not a Volvo specialist though.

Thanks for all the responses.

I got a price of £175 +VAT from a Volvo specialist to do the job.

For that money I think I'll go ahead with it next month.

Peace of mind and all that

I think as owners/drivers we live with the car everyday so it's up to us to detect noises that have changed, unless it's screeching its head off a mechanic won't always be alerted to the problem. I always tell THEM what I want doing or checking, after all it's not their car so why would they check over it in detail unless you asked them to?

1.6d D2 engine is 87,500 miles as for 2.0liter it woud be madness to wait untill 150k miles for sake of £120 for timing belt kit ,ill do mine about 65 ish better be safe than sorry and its easy fitted on both 1.6d and 2.0d

I would get the Aux belt (and the pulleys if required) done at the same time, it works out cheaper to do them all at once.

Had mine done at 144K along with the water pump etc.
