Default 850R titan alloys

when i acquired my 850R recently someone in the past had commited the crime of removing the volvo alloys (i believe they came with titans, but not sure) and putting on some vulgar ones. has anyone experienced how difficult they are to get second hand or am i just wasting my time.

are titan alloys the 7 spoke graphite ones?

Didnt the 850R come with Volans (multi spoke 7? design )? I think you could choose between silver or graphite but most were graphite.
The T5R had the Titan 5 spokes.
Someone help me out here please.

Hi Simon, you're right the 850R had Volans (Anthracite:9451 521)(Silver 9451 522) and the T5R Titans (Anthracite:3529 650).The first fwd V70Rs had Comets as standard with a tyre dimension of 205/45/ZR 17s and the AWD had 215/45ZR 17s. I prefer the Comets, however the Titans come a close second and appear to be rarer! The later Rs had different wheels and some AWDs had 16" wheels - sorry for going on and on!

Hello Simon

You are right The 850R did come with Volans (7 Spoke) if you remember when I brought my 850R and it had drug dealers wheels on. I found three Volans on E-Bay and got three from London, spent £50 each (on 4 only) getting them refurbished and had them fitted all for £700 now the car looks fab - there was a few made with silver Volans but as you said most did come finished in graphite

Keep looking for Volans as these are the wheels for your car as Simon and Iain said, they are like gold dust, but they are out there, look on e-bay and I will get back to you with the phone number from the shop in London where I got three sent to me - its worth the wait as they look greaton the car

Please note that if you intend to fit an AP kit in the future, Comets will NOT accomodate the calipers unless you use spacers (and no, this isn't a plug for Don though he does do good ones...).

Titans will be fine and most Volans, though the tolerances are very tight on the Volans, so you may have to do some front-to-rear swapping to ensure a clear rotation.

In my highly biased opinion, Volans are the best-looking of all the Volvo wheels; I've just refurbed mine in gunmetal which is slightly darker than the standard finish and they look very, very nice...

Default Getting Volans

A further point, rather than try to get a full set at one go which is often expensive, you can pick up singleton wheels from the breakers listed in the website and in the magazine - since they're not a set they'll often be less than £100 a corner.

Then you refurb them for about £50 a corner, and you've got a brand-new set of wheels for half (or less) the price of a dealer set (about £300+ a corner at the last check)
