Default Volvo main dealer in Cardiff

I received a letter from Fordthorne this morning stating that they are ending their 12-year association with Volvo UK from 15 March.

Does anyone know if there will be a new Volvo main dealer in Cardiff?

Just had a response from Volvo UK. No plans on a replacement main dealer in Cardiff. The current Volvo will be my last when I replace it shortly. A manufacturer that cannot be bothered to have a dealership in a capital city won’t get my custom. Closest are in Abergavenny, Swansea or Bristol now.

Former Volvo Master Technician Steve who runs CVS Volvo in Cardiff is great for all things Volvo, unless what you are after is only buying a new car from a volvo main dealer.

I would never buy a new one, just for recalls and software updates. Good to know about CVS though - do they do the software updates?

At least 19 manufacturers have their dealerships within 4 miles of my house and en-route for the 5 mile commute to my office. Why would I now want to buy a marque that requires at least a 2 hour round trip to the dealer? No more popping in to buy an oil filter and sump plug washer etc.

No, I’ll just choose elsewhere thankyou.

Yes there will be a new Retailer in Cardiff with experienced staff

You can visit Mon Motors website and complete an enquiry form and there is a booking line and they were very helpful when I called!
