This is very disappointing! I'm looking at new shocks next year to replace the Bilstein TC's and was looking at Gaz as a cheaper adjustable alternative to Koni. I think Classic Sweede is the only seller of these. Last time I checked, they are not listed in Gaz product list, which suggests they are either special order, or designed for a different vehicle which "kind of fit" our cars...

I have only ever dealt with Classic Swede once, when I bought a set of used HD rear springs from him... which unfortunately took literally months of chasing and excuses, but I got them eventually.

I havent actually dealt with him but theres a guy in chesterfield where i am that does adjustable shocks, think they are gaz units also.

Retroturbo is his website.
Think he gets stuff from scandinavia and brings it over.

Sorry to hijack the thread but what are peoples experience with koni or bilstein b6s ?

Cheers

I’d just send a letter before action to ClassicSwede and get your money back. I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole personally after reading that Lpg thread.

I have noticed that since the first post on this thread the owner of Classic Swede (I assume) has had occasional input on a Facebook Volvo interest page.

Personally I think the business response of Classic Swede leaves a lot to be desired, and not surprisingly they get negative feedback.

Glad to hear you have got the problem sorted out. It's a shame there isn't more of a market for Volvo 940 parts there would be a few more choices when it came to what was available then.
I fitted a set of Sachs/Boge gas shocks and there was a huge improvement over the originals but I think a lot of it was just because they were new, it all helps though.
