940 Radiators
I need a new rad for the 940 Turbo, seems to be a fair few options out there though!
Are A/C cars different to non-A/C cars? Manual/auto differences? I removed my air con if that makes any difference? Also and recommendations to acquire one from would be smashing. Ben. |

I think it's because of the aircon radiator/condenser and the intercooler that it makes a difference. I'd say the brackets are probably different too in order to space it back enough to fit all 3 in the front.
I got mine from Euro car parts.

A/C radiators are bigger. Auto have the integral transmission fluid cooler. If you buy from Volvo I think you only get the auto variant now with caps for the unused cooler line connections. I guess the main problem with using a smaller radiator on a car that used to have a/c is whether the fittings will be in the right place.

Just put a new radiator into Moomin. I'm on the other side of the planet from you, but I can confirm the radiator is the same physical size regardless of accessories.
The auto cars have a transmission cooler integrated into the radiator and have the associated fittings on the radiator. The trans cooler fittings are in two possible formats - male or female, depending on manufacture date/location. You need to know if yours is an inny or an outy before you order! |

My 1996 940 LPT estate automatic needed a new radiator and I fitted a nissens one off ebay. Cant remember seller off hand. Could be buycarspares.
This was the seller and rad I used looking at purchase history for 2016. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissens-R...item5b05c8d0ec Here are some, just enter you model year and see if compatible. Once found one that's compatible also do a search of the part number to find the ebay cheaper sellers and try google. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_f...ssens&_sacat=0 I also have a nissens rad in my 240 glt auto for the last 5 years and no issues. My 940 has a nissens AC condenser from front then intercooler then nissens rad on my B230FK engine car. James Last edited by volvo always; Nov 14th, 2017 at 01:15. |

Thanks guys, I've found a website that's selling the Nissen ones for about £90, need to measure mine when I'm home before I order.
