Default headllight washer covers

hi guys just a quick one... have had to replace headlight washer covers as they had broke... how an earth do you replace them.. or should I say how do you get the washers to come out and stay out so the covers can be put on properly?..
have managed to pull one side out get a cover on it but the minute you let go it slams back into place and the cover comes back off..

thanks in advance

You need an assistant.

The other person activates the screen / headlamp washers.

You grab the washer nozzle as it extends out of the bumper and then stop it from retracting by just holding it or using some wooden wedges / cutout.

Then remove and/or refit the washer cover, and finally hold the nozzle, remove your retainer, and let go.

hmm this is easier said than done especially now as when washers are activated they don't come out now...

Turn the ignition off and on again to reset the headlamp wash timer!

Plus use an old dish towel and a pair of mole grips to hold the washer stem so it doesn't retract.

And, they have their own fuse in engine compartment. The fuse can blow if washers are obstructed.
