Default New recall - should I be worried

Hi

I found the following on another forum.

Any ideas what it is, can it wait or is it something more immediate like a theft vulnerability?

The fact that Volvo havent contacted me is reassuring, isnt it.............

In the event of an accident VoC/SOS might not report the car's position correctly.

If in doubt as to whether your car is affected, call your dealer and they can tell you right away via their system.

Just beware that many cars that appear to have a VIN no in the recall range are in fact not effected. Your dealer will be able to confirm one way or other if you ring them, but I do believe that dealerships already contacted those effected.

I did check via the link given but am still non the wiser as they say that there is a delay in them receiving the recall info (or updating their site).

I completed the survey at the end and told them so and asked if they could, in future, be more precise and give more information. No doubt there will be a thousand reasons why bot.

I had this recall several weeks ago by a letter from the supplying dealer, yes, it's a vehicle connectivity module issue whereby VOC may give an incorrect location to the emergency services in the event of an automated alert in a serious (air bag triggered) accident.

It took around 40 minutes for the software update, I was however at the dealer for over an hour as they insisted on washing and vacuuming the car afterwards!
