Makes £799 for a 3year unlimited mileage warranty look like a steal....

Apparently until recently there were replacing whole rear axle as the ERAD is build in, now they have sent a training video that changes the ‘clutch pack’ apparently has a 7 hour allowance but takes near 10 hours
Given that the same platform is used across models I’m sure the boffins in Sweden are ****ting themselves on this one Hopefully get the car back on Wednesday.... |

So. My car is 4 years old and is 150 miles short of 100k miles. I was just thinking about posting a 100k miles update full of contentment and happiness, but today things seem to be going wrong.
I was parked up a bit of a slope on the grass in a busy car park. Came to leave. Loads of battery power. Booted up the car. Put in drive. Squeezed the throttle, I was due to take off down the slope so gravity was with me. Nothing. Checked I was in drive. Seemed odd maybe handbrake wasnt coming off automatically. Squeezed throttle a bit more. Nothing. Eventually car rolled away. Maybe it had sunk into the grass I thought. Then as I came to leave the car park I was still in electric and the car in front moved off onto the main road. I squeezed the throttle to move forward. Again nothing initially. It almost felt like the handbrake was on. Same as I pulled out onto the main road, but I booted it and so the ice kicked in and off we went. Did it once more again nearer home. It feels almost as if some big force is holding onto the car at the back when you are pressing the accelerator to move forward. Thinking:- a. ERAD fault? b. Is the standard volvo warranty longer than 3 years for the axle? c. I have an aftermarket warranty from the dealer - hope it is up to the job..... Any thoughts or suggestions?

ERAD failed on my XC90 T8. $6,000 to replace part. Car only a few thousand miles out of warranty. Volvo covered parts as a goodwill gesture but I still paid $1800 for them to rebuild the ERAD. didn’t fix the issue and now I’m in a tug of war with the dealer over whether they didn’t fix it or it’s some new issue. Either way they can’t seem to get it to work right regardless of who pays. Lemon.
