No it doesn’t. Audi and Volvo don’t make the belts, they will be made by gates or someone.

The Haldex units which are identical are also serviced in Audi despite Volvo say sealed for life.

I am not keen on Audi or BMW but it’s madness to have 100,000 mile plus service intercals.

Had my V50 20D done at 120’000 as Volvo informed me. Volvo wanted around £700, took it to a Volvo specialist and it cost me £400.

That’s good isn’t it, if the interval is specified it’s very likly tobe ok to if it did fail at 105,000 miles I would not expect much from Volvo. Google D5 tensioner failure and you will see many instances where the engine does not survive to the 108,000 mile change as advised by Volvo.

Volvo seem to have a reputation for fitting high quality belts tensioners and water pumps that actually do the job. Have always changed mine at 96K on the D5 and never removed a part that made me think "jesus, that was close".

As long as you make sure to replace stuff with Genuine Volvo parts you will be safe to go.

Funny, when I was a kid people were still worshiping cars that could make 100K, regardless of the blue smoke pouring out the back and things falling off. We have never had it so good.

Given the lack of reported cambelt failures on the PSA engines, it suggest the 150K/10 year interval is perfectly fine. Changing every 4 years is madness. But I guess a nice little rather.
