Very much a personal choice. My old xc60 was beige interior and white exterior. My Golf GTi is black leather white exterior. To be honest I like both. My new XC60 is Mussel Blue with blonde interior. If I had gone for a black car I think I would have gone for Amber.

I love the drift wood inlays with blonde.

I went into the configurator before I posted and added the exterior styling kit, and also looked at the options. It didn't show any running boards. Maybe the configurator is rubbish (or they have stopped that option now). Or of course I could just be incompetent.

I’ve gone for charcoal. Last time I had a pale interior it got stained quickly with dye from jeans, and the junk I was throwing into the car.

I went for black, as usual, mainly for the practicality. Personally, I wish I'd gone for the blond or amber though. Black can look very ordinary especially when it needs a clean!

The 2nd Generation XC60 no longer has running boards as a styling option due to the design of the doors on this model that incorporate the sill as part of the door panel.

Went for charcoal in the end - mainly because I didn't like the 2-tone steering wheel, or the 1/2 blond dash.
Happy with my choice now it's arrived.
