Default 2001 Volvo s40 heater core replacement.

Hi all.
I have leakage inside the cabin and have to replace the heater core of Volvo S40.
As you can see, I've managed to get to the whole unit by removing the dashboard. But now I'm stuck because I don't know what to remove now to be able to open the heater core case. I guess it's in the middle behind the metal plates since the right side states cooling unit. Does anybody here know the next steps? Please help. Thank you.

Hi all, I've managed to get the heater unit with the core out. I did make a nice photo tutorial because I have the idea that many more people will need this in the future. Hope that my contribution will help those who will need it. This is how I did it.

Default s40 to the core

well done for sorting it and thanks for the pictures/animation. Once you have done it you can do it again easy but first time is a bit fraught. Thanks for sharing for the next person. What this forum is for..other than having a laugh.

Nice work! Not had to do that to my V40, but I did once do it on a Citroen ZX and remember what a nightmare it was!

Thanks for the photos, I'm sure anyone else tackling the same job in the future will find it useful
