my v70 flattens batteries in a couple of hours of fitting and just lost all power when driving! help please

Hi, What is the year and engine in your v70. Is the "charging " light on when driving in which case could be a buggered alternator or slipping belt. I am not an expert, just my first thought. Others on here know far more.

2002 2.4, no lights when driving,but something is draining batt after a couple of hours?

when you are driving are there any warning lights showing on the instrument panel.
