Default D5 brake upgrade 286mm to 305mm, ATE caliper carriers

For Phase 2 V70 and probably S60 (but you'll need to check).

*If* your D5 is fortunate enough to come with the 60mm ATE calipers but the puny 286mm discs these are all you need (bar the new discs) to upgrade to 305mm T5 stopping power.

This set of caliper carriers is surplus to requirements. I have shot blasted and wire wooled this set so they are ready for painting.

Looking for £35 for the pair (half of what I paid new) and £13 ParcelForce 48hr delivery. Total £48.

Payment by cheque please, I'll post them when it clears.

Contact me via PM.

Default How will I know ...

Gentlemen

Just about to start down this road, and I spotted this previous post.

How will I know if I have '60mm' calipers - which dimension does this refer to ?

I have a 2004 MY V70 D5, with the effeminate (and worn out) 286mm rotors - An ideal time to start gathering the parts to make the upgrade.

Rgds, and thanks

AFAIK the 60mm refers to the size/diameter of the piston. I have also just upgraded to the 305mm discs but I obtained a full set of front and rear calipers from an ex-plod T5 which was being broken. These were then shot blasted, painted and re-sealed before being fitted along with new (Volvo) discs and pads plus braided hoses and new fluid.
I have my old calipers still in the garage and I have been meaning to measure the pistons and check for any markings which might lead to identifying the "size" (I have photos of the markings on the T5 ones prior to the refurb). I'll try to remember to do this this evening and repost.
