You shouldnt use C spec oils in these. Its not good to run 18k oci's too if you value your engine and performance/economy, but each to their own.
However, use A5/B5 (or A3/B4 is fine too) not C spec. C spec should be fully backwards compatible, but there are complications where it may not be, and both Total and Miller's have said to me personally -NOT- to use C spec, only full saps. I couldn't get the info as to why from them, but it was made clear during oil discussion. |

Hi,
thnx for the reply. Since my engine runs on C3 now, would it be advisable to replace it? It's running some 2k miles on it now... |

Which engine is it? If ite euro 4, C3 is not good for it.
Euro 3 it depends. Tim from Opieoils managed to talk to an actual tech at millers who said that their C3 is ok. Id say the big names are probably safe, but if in any doubt, or just to be safe, stick to full saps A/B spec oil. I wouldnt worry though until next service, unless you have a dpf and it keeps throwing a wobbler. |

2.0? If its the 2.0 afaik they require rbs02ae 0w20 only, if this is so, then anything other is not at all suitable.
You dont mess with modern engines and oil, gone are the days where 10w40 or 20w50 went in everything, some of todays engines can experience serious problems without the exact oil for that specific engine. |
