Default Thule roof bars for XC90 R Design

Can anyone advise me which fitting kit and foot pack I require for a 2019 XC90 R Design. Every place I look seems to give me different numbers. I assume they are classed as flush fitting rails as there is no gap between them and the roof.

Thanks in advance

I have a set of Thule roof bars from my previous Discovery and have just ordered a new foot kit Thule 4058 which then fits on the flush rails using the Thule 753 kit which attaches to the rails. If you look on their website and put in XC90 shows the same for that, (I have a 2018 XC60 R design pro,) which I believe has the same roof rails.

The Volvo ones are £230 which you can normally get 10-15% off from the dealer so £200.

The Thule ones end up a similar price if not more, so I just went to the dealer.

And lets face it, they are just the Thule ones with a Volvo badge!

What zebra said- however, bear in mind that Volvo factory bars whistle like crazy if you have them on without any accessories Normally I use them only in winter with a ski carrier accessory and I take them off comes the spring time - so this doesn't bother me - but if you're going to keep them on permanently - I'd go with a Thule Wingbar Edge - which is the quietest roof bar in the market, from my experience..

What Haldex said!

Mine did whistle but were better when the rubber inserts were on and when I adjusted them to the maximum forwards for the front one and the maximum backwards for the back one in line with the instructions (i.e. not the limit of the rails, just the measurement list set out in the instructions).

Agree- positioning does make significant difference.

On the topic of rack whistle, I am going to test one of these in winter- pity Thule has a tiny, ugly looking one- so I'll go with Yakima, mainly for aesthetics:

Apparently they also help with mileage- by reducing drag coefficient of the rack/load.. I'll report back (with pics) once I get to try it.

Decided on the Thule Aero bars and 598 bike carrier, made it from Sheffield to Dorset with no dramas. Just a step/chair to put the bike on/take off although I’m 6’2” and the XC90 suspension lowered 😆

Digressing but your car looks quite low and very nice. Arches filled out by the tyres. I got 22in Alloys (with Air suspension) but still see a lot of the arch. Is your car in Dynamic/Sports mode?? Either that or your boot is full

I think I took the picture before I loaded up the boot, but agree it does look low with full arches, always use the convenience mode (if that’s what it’s called?) so the suspension drops once the engine is shut down. Makes it slightly easier for the kids getting in and out.
