Hi all,

I bought these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Set-Mud-F...72.m2749.l2649 based on a link from this thread and only got around to fitting them yesterday.

I used the original screws and apart from one fiddly one on the front, they all fitted as if OEM and look great.

Just ordered https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-O...53.m2749.l2649 for my S90. Hopefully they will be a decent fit.

Tomorrow we become first time Volvo owners and even though the nearly-new car has virtually all it needs I will be getting mud flaps. I don't intend paying Volvo's high price but will take a chance on a set of Chinese ebay specials.

Q. Has anyone been hit by customs, and therefore Royal Mail, charges?
Even with those costs added it should still be much, much cheaper but I'm just curious.

many thanks,
Paul

My Chinese mudflaps were just below £29 for a set of 4, they arrived very quickly and I did not pay any customs fees or postal charges.

Items below a certain price do not have customs duty imposed,

The item I linked to claims to be located in UK, and the shipping time (1 week) would agree with that. Although I've never been hit by duty on items around this value from China I'd pay a few pounds extra if it avoids the 3 weeks shipping time that China orders usually take.

Thank you for that. The mud flaps I've found for a V90 CC MY19 are £54.99 which is above the Customs 'no charge' limit, I believe. Even with the possible charges added it still works out much cheaper and the only unknown is whether they will fit perfectly. Some individuals report problems but in the main most seem happy.

So what is the benefit of fitting mud flaps?

Any more answers out there, other than, "They do look rather nice."?

These are my Chinese eBay ones fitted. You can see some of the dirt that was thrown up without them.

I think the rears (image 4 & 5) are not as quite as snug a fit as the fronts, which may be when Philip is talking about.
