Ahh well looks like a half affordable solution maybe if this dude has 700bhp on that intake manifold,

I have seen classic swede intake plenum which I may lean towards but I am always open to other options/ideas.

Cheers

I’ve read that a lot of the higher power redblocks need the blocks reinforcing around the cylinder walls.

Hi if you can find a link with that information it would be a good read for me.

I know already about filling blocks with concrete but thats a bit extreme and can go wrong if not experienced unlike the drag race guys.

Only other thing I have seen is a turbo bricks thread about the 95 block being the "reinforced" one.

Far from that I have done alot of research and would assume I would not have to concrete my block just to make 500-600bhp

Cheers

I don’t think concrete is actually what they use to reinforce the blocks properly, I think that’s just how some people translate it from their languages. I’d assume it was a special material that won’t break up, maybe an epoxy resin of some sort.

I’ve seen it done on 500+bhp 8v and 16v engines so you may get away with not having it done if you get a good block.

It was a while ago I read up on the high power red blocks so I can’t remember exactly where I saw it I’m afraid.

I don't think Linuxman/Goldbrick reinforces his blocks at all,
something else usually breaks ... instead.
Some great threads over on turbobricks and he posts his youtube videos too,
everything's quite budget.

All I'm convinced about is that from 1993 onward the blocks have oil "squirters" which are better for high-power longevity.
My engine is low-power stock so I don't care ...
