S40 Brake and Tail Light Failure Sensor
30862380 Where is it situated in the 2001 car?
Is called by various names. Failure Sensor, Bulb Failure Unit, Filament Monitor Relay, Relay lamp Bulb Monitor, Relay Failure Guard, GLUHFADENWAECHTER. Image from Skandix https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjlyTCmC-zO8gmr-...sJKoc?e=1McfPM https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...located-94061/ OpMechTechV40 was told the location but he could not find it and the thread ended. "It would appear that it is located in the center dash area below the windscreen. You will probably need to remove the radio first, then the heater controls and finally the air vent to get at this item." Pictures of the -2000 S70 version of the same functional unit? https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjlyTCmC-zO8gmr-...sJKoc?e=1McfPM |

I've never ever seen this particular part in a y of the S40, V40 models. So not sure what it is and where it could be

H'mm
Looking at https://www.volvopartswebstore.com/s...roduct=1141811 It does imply its under the dash area, but when i picked up a spare rear lamp for my old S40 i seem to remember it had that unit dangling from the cut wires (the breaker just cut the wires rather than unplugging the light) I no longer have a 40 series so can't check, but worth having a good look around the rear lights themselves, but i'll apologise up front if thats a wild goose chase |
