So it will be all that front panel there in the picture?

On the passenger side there's the glove compartment there. Does that come all off?

Hi,

The panel under the steering wheel will come off. Not necessary for what you are looking for. This time..

The panel to the right of the accelerator is what Simon is referring to, next to where the bonnet release is.
Again there will be a couple of twist and out clips holding this in place.

Great, thanks!

The same applies to the passenger side? As I mentioned before, I'm not in the UK so my passenger side is your driver side.

Hi guys!

I haven't had another try at the broken water pipe yet. I was going to do it today with a friend that came to help me change from summer tyres to winter tyres but then something went wrong.

On our first tyre (the front left), my friend didn't look at the nuts when putting them back in and he kept on screwing it in. The result was some damage to the wheel itself and the nuts are gone, need to get new ones since when I now turn them around they don't fit on the screwing tool.

Do these nuts have a special name? Since they are asymmetrical. Are they easy to find around?

Can you have a look at the wheel itself. Is this a big damage? Not all the nuts where forced this hard. I think this one is the worst one. It made the hole a bit wider.

Can't believe this happened!

(sorry for the quality, it was getting dark already)

Your mate has put the nuts on the wrong way round.... Turn them round and try again....It will be obvious if they are knackered...

They got damaged the nuts. So I need new ones. I was just wondering if the damage to the wheel itself will be dangerous?

Hi,

You can do a visual check on the studs to make sure they are Ok and not threaded. Nuts you should be able to pick up from any decent Volvo breakers (Salvo, Braydons etc).

The studs can be changed fairly easily but obviously involves a little more work.

The studs are fine.

What I noticed was that some of the holes on the wheel from where the studs come out from have been made a bit wider than before because of trying to fix the nuts upside down. The metal was eaten a bit by the nuts.
