Not a waste of time, they will have a warranty from their supplier but you can bet they will have fitted the cheapest available.

I had this problem and it came back.... so still have it
It was pagid disk+pads I used too! Everything is true, no sized caliper ect and wheels torqued evenly. I just pretend I am a rally driver and going over bumps ect with the wheel shaking mad

This issue is more common on the heavier Volvo cars - especially XC90. The most widely accepted cure is to fit GENUINE ( not OEM quality or OEM supplier) discs and pads. It seems to be more common on auto gearbox cars which adds weight to the theory which links the damage to keeping your foot on the brake when the car is stationary.
If you look on eBay there are usually a few dealers with offers on, prices aren't so bad. Btw Skandix are not genuine and just as likely to warp as any other.

Yes, I've had this with EBC, Pagid and Ferodo discs but never with Volvo OEM (I think they are ATE).
You can reduce the possibility by not sitting on the footbbrake as someone mentioned above after slowing to a standstill. Use the handbrake once stopped. If you do need to carry on using the footbrake, apply as little pressure as you can to hold the vehicle still rather than firmly planting your foot down.

Oem discs will warp as well if the car is not used a lot.I just get them reshimed now or I just put up with it.
