The latest info that I have is, they now do not replace the EGR valve and cooler.
They now clean the valve and cooler + several sensors, carry out a regeneration and apply a remap.
My V60 is going in to have this done on the 6th July.

All my problems have been with oxygen sensors, but a new technical sheet has pointed the dealer to carry out the above work. Going to take two days.

Well my dad's car is going in this afternoon for a check over and to read fault codes. I'm told this will allow the dealer to order the relevant part. Can't remember which but one is next day and the other is from Sweden and can take 3 days. Whichever is required will be fitted back end of next week because he's away in it the weekend after. If all goes to plan this is an impressive response from Autoworld.

I'll keep you posted.

Would be interested in hearing if you notice any difference in the engine once the remap is done.

I had an interesting chat with a head technician the other day and asked him about the EGR stuff. He said that Volvo supply the software and the dealers upload and often they don't know what the remap/enhancement entails. He wouldn't be drawn into speculation but did say that if the engine characteristics had changed (like gear changes, rev ranges) then there might have been something in the upgrade that is designed to help combat the EGR issue such as the engine running hotter and gear changes being extended (on geartronic).

Thing is though you do eventually get used to any changes you think might have taken place.

Just called the dealer armed with this and straight away got a "Yes it's probably this, this needs to happen etc etc". How refreshing. A big to Andy at Autoworld Chesterfield.
You are not supposed to get any warning lights or messages , I would return it to the dealer , they know what to do ! Software seems to be updated on a monthly basis !

Hi Clan. Sorry, to be clear...

Occasional warning lights that clear which we put down to maybe the DPF and it not getting a decent run very often. Then the tortoise and reduced performance the other day. That seemed to clear itself and then warning lights again as before.

Then I remembered a mention of tortoises or turtles and checked here and Google. Dealer agreed it sounded like the EGR issue, it's been over there for them to read codes and they're having it back next week for the work.

I'll have a better idea of what was discussed when I speak to either my dad or the dealer.
