There should be an option to have either, dependant on preference.

I regrettably recognise the standing in the rain syndrome and agree that it would good if they moved when you unlock the car rather than waiting for the door to be opened.

It would I fear be easier to change the wife for a taller model than get Volvo to change the operation of the seat

Newbie question here. I have never had an Electric seat before but am getting in my xc60. So what is the norm when switching seats between me and the Mrs. Do you sit on the seat and press 1 for Me and 2 for Mrs ? Sorry if this comes across as a stupid question.

You can set it up so each key memorises each setting also you can set the memory buttons for 3 settings. If there is a bit of difference between you and the mrs then it can be a pain, as seats dont alter until you either press your set button or open the door after unlocking with your key. My old smax altered the seat as soon as the fob was pressed so seat would be in position before entering the car. With Volvos system you have to stand in the rain and wait for the seat to move.

Nothing stoping you getting in the car as the seat starts moving. No reason surely to wait until the seat has completely moved.

Afraid there is as I am over 6ft and need the seat as far back as possible. Do you think I would stand there getting soaking wet if I didnt have to?
