Hi Di

I recently bought some on ebay.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2X-Vacuum...T/142920614766

Those ones came from China, but if you look on ebay you will find the same item but in the UK.

They are easy to check so I would do that at soon as you can.

Steve

That'd be internal diameter, yes?

Di?

I just took a look at those valves, which failed the listing's 'compatibility check'. I assume that's because the seller didn't manage to find out every car they'd fit. At £3.62 for two I'd risk it, if it weren't for the slow boat from China delay...

So I found this, which looks very much the same @ 2x the price but about 10x quicker delivery: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vacuum-Ch...1/252571210777 The listing doesn't specify the connector diameter though. I've ordered them, so thanks for the tip there, Steve.

I'd be inclined to go for the Skandix ones, were it not for the £20 p&p for two tiny bits of plastic.

Ok, so I've had a quick look for 'evap system', which appears to possibly be something under the rear end near the fuel tank for keeping fumes at bay. The only thing I found on 'deleting' it seemed to involve removing a small gadget from the engine and blocking the hole(s) it came from.

I have 0 idea how we got to the evap system from the lambda and flashing arrow lights...
The evap system is designed to remove fuel vapours from the fuel tank to the inlet manifold rather than venting to atmosphere.

Those one way valves will stop boost pressure from heading in the wrong direction which would effectively pressure your fuel tank and the carbon canister which is bolted to the front subframe under the passenger side front wing.

If the evao valve sticks open it will allow atmosphere to enter the inlet via the fuel tank under all conditions which is like a massive vacuum leak but you wont be able to detect it easily....

I normally ditch the lot but replacing the one way valve on its way to the inlet with something that blocks the flow in both directions will do the same...

If you care for the environment a T5 is the wrong car anyway
