Default I might be getting a 360glt!!!

I have finally convinced my Mrs to let me get another car I'm going to have a look at it today

Really excited. It's a 360glt 3door in black with red pipe tape along the sides engines seized though.

Ooh!!

Looking forward to hearing more, Andrew.

Replacement engine should be easy enough to find, from a 240 if all else fails

Excellent - these are great fun

I had two 340's a while back and I loved them. Little Renault engines, transaxles, no power steering etc. One succumbed to rust, the other is still going locally. If I had the space I would track one down.

just find a B230E from a 240 or 940 for £200 and fit that , it will have the performance it deserves then :-)

Is it a GLT or a 'Redline', just when you mention the red coachlines ?

Sounds like an interesting car. Shalln't be a Redline Kev - they were only 5 door. Unusual to have a red stripe though - perhaps aftermarket or dealer fit. My old GLT saloon had a dealer fit stripe I've never seen since.

Did they make red/blue line 360s? Never heard of one before.

Like clan said just drop in a high compression B230

A 230 in a 360 GLT is a nice idea but remember I think it'll need to be a block mounted dizzy as there isn't a lot of room between the back of the head and the heater box as far as I recall.

My brother had one for a while, a 'Y' reg similer to this one colour and rims,

But the rear hatch had the black graduated striped declas on it.

The head dizzy fits with the mk 3 ventilation box on the 360 (86 on), but its possible to fit the block dizzy to a later B230, you may also need the intermediate shaft with the dizzy drive.
