Volvo v50

hi, looking for some help please. have a v50 2.0 diesel 2006, with high millage. the car runs lovely when asking it to go above 50 but when sitting around 35-45 it develops a kind of miss, like the engine has stalled for a split second. there is no problem at higher speeds and plenty guts. there is no smoke, I have just had the fuel filter, air filter oil and filter replaced but no difference. any idea??? thanks borderer

Hello, I’ve requested your post to be moved to the V50 section. Ideally you need it hooking up to Vida to get the codes read. It could be a few things ranging from EGR valve, Injectors to name a couple. Have you had any starting issues?

Does it matter which gear you are in? i.e are you in a lower gear and labouring the engine ?

hi no I am generally in 3-4th gear as this is happening at around 35-45 mph. the car starts first turn of the key idles fine, and has plenty power. only at mentioned speed does it show fault. if I push it to 50+ drives smooth no probs.

+1 on that.
It is unusual to have such a specific range at which this only happens.
My first thought would be EGR too.
Vida plug in your best way forward.
