I went through all this when I had my V70...so I feel for you guys and I know what you've been through (when my ETM failed I almost got hit from behind by a 6 wheeled 3 axle mercedes refuse truck!).

I was actually looking to come back to the Volvo fold...BUT, if I do now, it'll be a S-reg or older V70/S70/850 with cable throttle.

Again, my regards...Another punter here knowing how it feels to have a failed ETM and related issues...

My ETM looks doubtful
Which method of refurb / replacement is best????
S/H unit from scrappy ( Condition unknown and need re-coding)
BBA remanufacture (See above)
spokoluzik remanufacture here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1208447864...#ht_499wt_1153 (Any feedback)
Xodreox?From the states
Volvo main stealers But will it fail again???? £294 I heard quoted???

spokoluzik looks the most reasonable - what do people think?

Yours James

I have no experience with that seller or his service, but I'm pretty sure it's this guy who posts on the forum: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=143579

I'd be intersted to hear how you get on, as I will need a DIM repair soon and his prices look good.

Recently had my etm fixed by spokoluzik after finding a mention on here. Very fast turnaround, car idles beautifully even when I hadn't connected the connector properly!

There is a 2 year warranty on them I believe, just in case!

Will have my C70 back on the road tonight after putting the accelerator pedal back in. Will report back once I've taken it for a blast but the signs are positive!

Took mine out for its first run since fitting it. Smooth, quiet and a lot happier than it was. Feels a lot faster too.

Idle settles right down immediately..

A good job all in all.
