To be honest, probably the former, but the depreciation over 12 months and what they offered me for my car certainly meant that the deal was never going to work.

Ta for this.

I just thought that the deal they offer at mo 22k with 0% free this that and the other...if the price could say be brought down to say 20k with a good px on my daughters 59 Fiat (not been the best car) then despite the depreciation it maybe a possibility. (bit more safety bit more reliability bit more luxury)

cheers

Thanks
We have had our CR-V 18 months and its done 35k miles in that time, and it has been faultless. I'd say for your usage it would be very good. It's the 2.2 diesel (with the new, better engine) which gives adequate performance, and returns about 37-38 mpg of for mainly cross country/motorway driving with a bit of town work thrown in. Doesn't quite manage the opulent feel of the XC60 inside but it's a nice place to be. We've also taken it to the south of France a few times and it was ideal for that albeit the XC60 is a bit quieter on the motorway.

Re depreciation, like the XC60 there are some hefty discounts available which may account for some of that.

Only thing I'd be wary of buying one now is I think there is a new model due out soonish.

HTH.

Yes ive seen that a new one may be due - was reading about that also today - although if the price is right - if the deal is right - and the car is a good one then it may be an option.I have little experience with Honda.

Regards opulence - anything is more opulent than a fiat (not worthy of a capital F)....!!!!..the comments when it goes faulty though are worthy of a capital F though.......................

Going back to the original thread, I drove the 163 today. I was quite surprised at the performance. I currently drive a 177 bhp 320d and its not too far away around town. At 70 mph its sluggish to get to 80mph but that's to be expected.
Basically, the performance is adequate for the taller driving position and good mpg.

I certainly wouldn't have the same confidence to pull into a faster lane of traffic on the motorway as I do in my 320d. Even dropping to 5th gear didn't make a big difference.
I guess it would just need more planning ahead.

I've got a 215 for 2 days in a couple of weeks. It will be interesting to compare.

Hi 12345

Thanks for that.

In my MY12 D5 215.....I feel happy pulling into a faster lane at 70mph in 6th

Ive tested it on the motorway against overtakers (whilst at the same time trying not to look as though I was racing or bugging people) and these vehicles were the like of Audi 2.0tdi's BMW 320d's XF's Rangies, Clio 197's, Minis, Merc 270cdi's,LR 3.0TDV6, lexus 220D's, Espace, Scenic, Mazda, etc etc.....and find that the D5 is fine

Regards

I'd stick with the 320d tbh.
I'm looking to buy one to replace my S60 D5.

funny old world isn't it
