cambelt
Can anybody say where I can see the Volvo recommendations regarding what should be replaced when replacing a cam belt on a MKII D5. For instance do Volvo say the single use bolts/nuts should be replaced by the dealer. I would have thought the fact that these are apparently single use items they should be replaced but according to the dealer, not so. thanks turbo d

I'm not sure what Volvo say , but according to Clan the crankshaft bolts and big nut should be renewed . I would imagine the rest (for the tensioner and rollers) should be Ok, they are not under any real strain or high Torque.

The best place to look for the information is The volvo detailed method which is in the volvo workshop VIDA system if you have a friendly volvo technician .
What do you mean by a MK II D5 you mean the 2006 and later 185 bhp D5 ? The 4 crank pulley stretch bolts MUST be changed , they are angle torqued . The centre nut is optional but i always change it . ( 300 nm = very very tight ! ) The Cambelt tensioner lock bolt can be re used , torque isnt high at 27 nm ... At the same time the Aux belt , it's tensioner and idler wheel should be changed too using the original bolts unless it is around 2009 or later when the aux belt mechanical tensioner bolt should be changed .
