Default occasional engine service req'd - low fuel pressure

Hi all,

My new (to me) D5 has just thrown an 'engine service required' message and limp mode - VIDA shows the issue to be a low fuel pressure issue (forgot code). It cleared after a restart.

I've just changed the in-tank pump and have plenty of smelly stuff in the tank. The car was evidently serviced 2000 miles ago, the condition of the fuel filter casing appears to suggest that it was changed at this time.

Is there a common failing on the fuel system to direct my attention to?

The fuel filter can stop your car dead if its old and clogged. Drain it off and replace it A.S.A.P.

Thanks, looks like I'll be supping some water to get the 5 empty bottles

Got to say though, although it has a few niggles (was always going to have at the price I paid), I'm very impressed with the D5. Loads better to drive than the S60 bi-fuel it's replacing. The D5 is a manual as well, which is always a bonus in my book.
