I have to chuckle a little at this Chris but that is just due to the situation and not at you of course. It is getting absolutely ridiculous.

Well I can't see where the logic comes from at all in having the injectors tested, if anything I'd have the ECU tested and perhaps a software reload conducted. The ECU (ECM in Volvo speak) controls the injectors and when they inject extra fuel (on exhaust cycles) for the regen process.

So just to triple check, you STILL have the original DPF pressure sensors on the car???

I would say at a completely un-educated guess that it is almost definite that one of the DPF sensors are faulty and causing regen cycles which is resulting in the oil level rise? I would ask them kindly if nothing else to rule it out and replace the DPF pressure sensors. At the end of the day the time and money have spent on your car along with your lose of use then the cost of the sensors it negligible for them to incur.

So in answer to your question Chris I do not believe a check of the injectors will do anything except for to cost the dealer money.

Good luck!

Hey SonyVaio, I knew this post would get your attention

They did swap the DPF sensor with the one in the secondhand car, but as I pointed out, we have no way of knowing for sure if IT was ok. As Clan has pointed out, it's a Ford part and only lasts for so long. The secondhand car was a similar age and mileage to mine.

And although they haven't said as much yet, I think the cost of removing and testing the injectors will be for my account.

The only communication I've had from them was a 1 line email telling me they were having 'jip' from my car, followed by 5 lines explaining why they wanted the courtesy car back.

I responded by saying I'd be speaking to an attorney friend of mine fist chance I get and I haven't had a response yet because they don't work on Saturdays and wouldn't have received my email yet.
