Default Part number changes help

Hello,

I'm hoping someone can help me out here. The door latch on my 2007 MK3 V70 drivers door has gone kaput. The part number on the offending item is 31253278. On speaking to Volvo Inverness they informed me that the part number has been superseded. They wouldn't tell me a number but the very helpful lady in the parts department in Tyn Lon www.tynlon.co.uk told me the new PN was 31416674. I can find this part on ebay but the seller says this PN is not suitable for my car also it is not possible to find the 31253278 anywhere.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated (that and the gift of a brand new XC90 T8)
