Default V70 T5 (05) Engine Temp Switch

Hi

Not had the T5 long and noticed that the engine temperature gauge is sitting half way within a few minutes of cold start up. On hot days like today i got back from a run and the fan was on but the gauge was still sat on halfway. Is this usual for Volvos? Im thinking a new engine temp switch is needed.

Thanks for any advice

I have a V70 2.4 D, and the temp gauge doesn't take long to hit the middle and also climbing back up to our house from the road takes about 12 minutes at slow speed (25 km p.h.) and the gauge still reads the same and the fan will run for about 4-5 minutes . This is in temperatures of 45-55c .
