Default 850 tdi water pump and timing change

My 96 tdi is currently in the local indy after continually leaking coolant. Heater matrix was changed and whilst this made a big difference it was still losing a little coolant. Just heard from them to say the water pump is leaking and they have quoted £480 to replace the pump and timing belt.
Does this seem reasonable? Knowing the garage I expect this quote is for genuine parts
Car is on 177k
Thanks

If that's for genuine parts it's a very good price.

Bit expensive actually. I paid £320 for timing belt + water pump (genuine parts) over at Shemtek.

I was quoted a crazy £900 for my V70 tdi, it cost £200 in parts and took two of us 8 hours so your quote seems good if it’s the 5 cylinder engine.

Oops, my bad. I saw 850 T and my brain saw the rest. I guess it's the extra work in terms of harmonic balancer etc that makes the labour trickier?

That's an exceptional price for a T5. I've just done the timing belt and water pump on mine, and it was a royal PITA. I wasn't far shy of that price for parts and consumables alone.

I'm about to have the same done for my T5 (having someone else do the work but cannot compare the cost for that as I'm having other things done as well at the same time) but I have sourced the volvo parts i.e. cambelt kit (there are 3 variants so be careful when shopping) and waterpump kit.
Cheapest I found was a volvo dealer on Ebay (Caffyns Volvo) which came to just under £190 delivered. Local dealer wanted approx. £500 for the parts!
