Try phoning a volvo dealer with your reg number on the off chance parts department is open for a few hours. This is what I do should I need any such info and not having the ability to whip things on/off.

easiest way, at the end of your driveshaft you will either have a large (34mm from memory) nut or a 14mm bolt to hold the driveshaft in place.

34mm nut = 26 spline (Older style driveshaft)

14mm bolt = 36 spline (Newer style driveshaft)

Date change, 12-96 to the 6-98 should be 26 spline

7-98 to the 3-99 should be 36 spline

Volvo Part number 274378 (26)
And 272456 (36)

Above part number's may have a supersession

Old thread I know.

Just checking a 1998 V70 front wheel bearing (older style, large nut).
Seems that the socket is 36mm not 34mm.

Can't count the splines because I haven't taken the nut off yet, but believe it will be 26 spline.

Hope that helps someone.

Steve
