Default Child seat isofix retrofit? V70 1999

Hi folks,
My baby is due on April and I wonder if there is any option to retrofit the isofix system to our cars.
If not, what baby seat did you fit?

Are you sure that Isofix fittings aren't already fitted? My 2003 C70 has them and they're basically the same platform.

Just checked under the seat of my 99 V70 and there's nothing remotely like Isofix and no obvious way to fit it.

It's a long time since I had to worry about child seats but when we had ours the ones that are held with a three point seatbelt were coming in, I was not satisfied that they were sufficiently secure, especially side to side, back then it was possible to get alternative straps which had to be added to the seatbelt anchorage points (relatively straight forward but needs some work with spanners).

We are fortunate in MK to have the incarsafetycentre who specialise in car seats and seatbelts, I'd recommend finding somewhere similar in your local area to explore what your options are.

There's no isofix in a mk1 v70. I've got one and found the rear seat belts also weren't long enough to go round the rear facing baby seat that we had. I had to use a seat belt extender which wasn't ideal. Now we're on a forward facing seat the seatbelt fits round it ok.

I can recommend AxKid ReKid or Minikid.

Hi, Mine is a 1998 V70 and was fitted with the optional extra rear centre arm rest. this unfolds into a child sear which can carry a child up to 60lbs. Is it possible to get one from a breakers. I don't know whether volvo still sell this. Just a thought. jack
