What are your settings?

Ok here goes:-

Sound Stage = Rear
EQ Front = 1kHz +4 bars
EQ Rear = 3kHz +4 bars
Auto Volume = OFF
Bass = +2
Treble = 0
Fader = +1
Balance = -1
FM 3 Channel
Centre = 0

And on the CD - Surround Sound Dolby

Thanks Chaddie,

It looks that XC70 has completely different acoustics (it seems you are getting too little bass and middles, and I am not getting enough trebles).

I do not like the 3ch/Surround sound - actually I feel they mix everthing together and I am losing the ability to position instruments. And this of course is my personal preference only.

What do you think about the distortions? I do not have approproate device to measure them, but to me the music sounds rather harsh, especially voices and strings. Possible the effect of DSP sampling, but I am not sure.

I agree its worst with voices, just general talking on the radio just sounds wrong, can't really explain how, its just not like the old radio.

Also with my car being an estate and yours a saloon that will make a big difference to how they sound and the setting.

But the sound just isn't as good.
