S80: Engine - New to community with a few probs!

Hi all

Ive had a second hand T Reg S88 with 90000miles for about 3 months now and I love it, have a few probs ...one in particular, Sometimes when Im driving my engine system service urgent warning comes on and the revs go er...kinda wavy, not smooth when its ticking over....any ideas?? If I start it again its fine for a while, it only drops about 500 revs on idle so no massive drama. Cheers
