Default New V70 - Dog Cage

Hi

Just bought a new V70 and I am looking to get the dog cage which Volvo do for the V70. When I ordered it the dog cage was shown on the web site and was also shown in the part cataloge. It now does not appear on the web site but my dealer says its still avaiable. Anyone got one for the new V70 and how did you get it ?

Cheers

Hi,

Post in the Wanted forum further down the index page.

Or you can ask the dealer to order one for you...

You could alternatively get a dog gate that is attached to the roof trim and can be raised and lowered...

I thought the dog gate thing was standard on volvo estates?

I never ordered one on my car and it is there..

Based on the number of people who ask for them here, they are obviously not fitted as standard. Maybe as an extra.

Are you referring to the Longitudinal compartment seperator... or the Protective Grille

There is a seperate door that goes with the seperator to split your boot into 2 secure areas for 2 dogs, or to stop a dog escaping when you open your boot, I can't find that listed though.

Protective Grille

Longitudinal Seperator

Steel safety grille is standard on XC70 2000-2006, and on new XC70 not V70

Odd, I have had two loaner new V70's from Volvo both with the metal/steel grill that divides the back and the boot.
I always assumed this was a dog guard or could also be used to fill up the boot to the top without it spilling into the back seats or on someones head.

I am infact driving a V70 until Monday which is a loaner which also has it. I just thought that was standard on the new shape

Hi, Originally the dog guard was standard on both the all new V70 and XC70. However due to manufacturing problems (or so my dealer said, via an email from HQ) they are now only fitted as standard to the XC. However the nylon net system (which fits behind the rear seats and is like a vertical blind) is standard on the V70.
I much prefer this on my all new V70 D5 sport.
Cheers Rob

Interesting because I had the dog guard on both the V70's (new shapes) but neither had the sunblind curtain at the back!
