So my girlfriend owns a one litre late 90s Micra (a fine car btw), value about £1000. Last year's third party F&T insurance was £330. We've just received this year's renewal reminder and quote - £940! Has she made any claims? No. Of course we all know that they bank on people's laziness when it comes to renewing, but three times the price! Are people made of money??!! Anyway, we told them to stick it and we've now got a multicar policy with my insurer - £400 for her and £640 for me (both fully comp.), which, for my 2.4i V50 was outstanding! Needless to say it'll rocket up next year, but equally needless to say, I shall be going elsewhere.

My insurance has always been free - I never bother with it!
