Default A woman tried to kill me today

Nice stretch of dual carriageway. I had full headlights on not just the Volvo day beams. A woman doing about 65 in some repmobile pulled out from the inside lane into the outside lane without indicating (and apparently without use of her mirrors), just as I was approaching. I had to lose at least (well, quite a few) mph very quickly indeed and it was quite exciting involving a reduction in directional stability and a smell of hot brakes! Let me put it this way, I had just slipped the M46 into overdrive as I was getting to quite high revs in 4th.

You must be a lucky man if this is worthy of a forum post. I nearly get killed by a crap woman driver every other day.

Why were you driving with your headlights/mainbeams on on a road that had other drivers on?

I was driving along the A66 just near Barnard Castle on Friday and if you have been on that road it has a few gaps in the central reservation where you can sit waiting for a gap in the traffic so you can then cross the road and join the little side road. An artic without a trailer shot past the junction and then braked to a halt and reversed about a 100 yards back up the road so he could do a U turn!! luckily the road wasn't very busy but I braked hard enough the have the ABS chattering!! By the way This piece of road was a dual carriageway.

This is NOT a dig at truck drivers, but it is the worst piece of driving I've seen in 21 years.

End of the rev range in 4th? If ratios are similar to mine, that'll be 90 then :-D

No Willie, full headlights, dipped beams, not main beams. It helps (some) other drivers to see you, which is why 'bike riders should and do do it.

Nobody looks or indicates.

Put them on an AutoBahn and let them pull out infront of a BMW doing 155.
