The other random thought that crosses my mind (what mind?)... The logic might be easy to flow-chart, but how to incorporate the detail?
Just as an example, I guess the three basic questions - is there fuel, is there a spark, is there compression? - are easy to ask, but how to check fuel will differ a lot for different technologies, I gather that the old method of checking for a spark by holding a plug lead close to the block isn't advised with modern ignition systems, and you're only going to check the compressions if you happen to possess a compression tester. I'd love to see how an AA or RAC chap would go about it... |
