Strangest thing I ever did see on the motorway... a young lad in a Porsche Boxster, wearing a baseball cap backwards... in the left-hand lane, both hands on the steering wheel, not tailgating, and doing a steady 60 mph... huh??

but you just don`t understand - when a driver needs to suddenly switch lanes immediately in front of you at 80mph - he or she doesn`t have time for such fripperies such as warning YOU!

I started up a BMW once...
... a computerised voice said "congratulations you are now a ****!" To be fair, The younger folks in Audis and BMW's seem to be better than the middle aged men with 2.0TDI's and anger issues because you're barely a fair bit younger and packing double the power. I've followed a few Porsches on the M-way who wanted none of it when I kept up, they don't like a bit of friendly competition they roll over and pull in most of the time. |

Ah I have come across this phenomenom before, said person is in his dads Porsche, he has borrowed it to show his mates and now the poor boy is now crapping himself that he doesn't bend dads car before he can safely get it back in the garage before dad realises the toy has been lifted. Stay away from these eejits they tend to take corners wider than an artic as so not to scuff the wheels and incur the wrath of daddy.

Scanning this thread I began to think 'oh good' BMW have started fitting indicators to the 3-series, and explaining their operation in the owners' manuals. But referring back to the original post...
Quote:
I recently drove a 520d for a few weeks as a loan car, and have to admit I quite liked the car and its gadgets. But I had the constant feeling that the BMW 'corporate image police' might come beating on the door one day, as I simply couldn't resist the temptation to use the indicators to tell other drivers that I intended to turn, or to pull out or change lanes. I even used the indicators in accordance with the highway code at roundabouts, which I shall have on my conscience for a long time to come, but I seemed to get away with it for the few weeks I kept the car. |

Have to say having started this thread and with the references to Audi drivers we had one of those behind us and same again I moved over as he was half in and half out the lane but would he overtake !!! I indicated I was moving to the left just so he knew to go around me (don't like tailgaters would rather let them past so they can bump into someone else) he still didn't go around it took him several miles before he finally overtook but all the time he was behind he sat virtually in the opposite lane .
