Volvo 145S Estate
Hello..
Im Rob, my dads called Colin who owns the Volvo, according to howmanyleft.co.uk theres only 2 145S Estates left on the UK roads and i've seen you on here! A white one that was for sale in dorset a few years ago?? Anyways, owned since Feb 2008 bought at Kings Lynn auction for £1200 was 1 owner from new up to 2006 where a bodyshop bought it and restored it, new wings, arches, lower respray etc... Ever since we've had her it has ran on, pinking and just never ran smoothly, has 195,000 on the clock and the engine has been re-built twice in its life. However my dad bit the bullet a few months ago and decided to have the head off and discovered the problem, a new cylinder head, gasket, and ground in valves & a clutch and shes running smoooooooth! We have loads of classics 1950 Ford Anglua 1969 Wolslely 16/60 1970 Morris Marina TC 1978 MG B Roadster (owned since brand new) and the volvo Amazingly i only have 2 pics on my phone and its proving shes a work horse! This is one of the first proper box volvo estate with the HUGEE stainless grill Buy yeah, though i'd post up seeing as she's rare More pictures & more details tomorrow... Please dont hate Rob |

Hi Rob,
Great to see another early 145 getting used as was meant! I have a 1970 145 in white, but mine is the base model, although I am from Dorset, mine hasn't been up for sale!

Preston....
The other day I saw a 145 heading South from Preston, in a white colour too, I was traveling in the other direction so not sure if it was an "S"

Lovely. Always liked these really early 145s, as they have so many fantastic details that the later versions sadly lost.

Early 145s
I thought I'd share my own early 145 with you - sorry for the poor i-phone pic.
It's also used as a regular car; carrying whatever needs carrying in the back and hooning around the lanes. It started life as a single carb auto but is now twin carb and M41 'box. I've got some "S" wing badges to fit this weekend. There's another 1970 145 in Cheshire in white with the same blue interior as mine. Toodle Pip Simon |

There was a white 145 for sale in Bournemouth a few months back (pictured below) that was offered on here and apart from that I haven't seen anymore 145's in the area for years and I do keep a good lookout!

Reason they're weak at the front end is the 140/160 series have crumple zones. Wonder if Volvo ever considered a four spring system like Peugeot estates had. The Pugs had much higher load capacity (though they rusted away a bit quicker!)

Great car , love the colour too, so suits the model!
Loving your list of classics. Pics of the 16/60 please, is a two tone?
