Hi - sorry I was called away before finishing posting the pictures.
There is bad rust on the base of the near side rear passenger door. Also, bits of rust on other parts, expected for its age. I couldn't see any power steering but not to say there isn't any until I have a good look. I turned the engine over but there was not enough power in the battery to fire... just need more time to go and look it at properly. In terms of value - no less than what the scrap man would give me as any money made on the car will be donated to Essex Air Ambulance. my email is cliffordpotter[at]sky[dot]com |

Hmm...
I am VERY interested in this. I just need to figure out a few things, like getting it back to Manchester, where to put it when it gets here (I'm presuming it won't get through an MOT, being laid up for 10 years) and most importantly - I need to persuade Mrs. Sideways that we need a 300 in our lives!! So, down to brass tacks. I need to know if it'll run and how bad the tin-worm is on it, especially underneath and on parts like the front panel which are pretty much unobtainable now, Sorry for so many questions but I've been bitten before - I bought my Capri in similar circumstances and it turned out to be a right lemon... 9 years later I've still not got it on the road and I can't bring myself to sell it! Steve

Oh, I should probably add that I'm not shy of buying from a distance though.
I went all the way to Aberdeen for my 480. When I arrived it was as described by the seller (a forum member) and came away very happy. The car wasn't mint, but I wasn't expecting it to be. But I was prepared for that and since purchase it's had plenty of love and attention spent on it There's a thread in the showroom if you're interested - here Cheers, Steve Edit: just noticed that pics in my 480 thread have disappeared from the first few pages, plenty further along though for people's delictation

Hi lads.
YES STEVE. Buy this car. It will not however have power steering but the steering on my GLS is very good for a car with a 2lt red bock under the bonnet. Cheers Mark. |
