Default v50 2,0d injector fault

hi all. my dads v50 2.0d has been in main dealer and they have diagnosed fault as an injector, but couldnt tell us which one, so after £100 we still left with a rough running car from cold. is there a do it yourself way of finding the faulty injector. cheers mike

did they do a leak back test? thats the usual way to find a faulty injector i believe.

vehicle has now gone to a diesel specailist, theres no fault with injectors, so next done a compression test and found that 1 cylinder is losing slight pressure, what does this mean, is it an exspensive repair? cheers mike

can mean a few things I think, piston rings, valve stem seals, valves themselves off the top of my head the most likely is valve oil stem seals. If it is any of the things I've mentioned it wont be very cheap to have done. All the research ive done on this engine ive not come across anyone who has had those fail.

did they do a leak back test?
