Default Harman Kardon amp not working

Hi All,

I had a water spill over the back seat of my VOlvo S80 2015 model. It’s fitted with the Harmab kardon amplifier. I suspect that the water spill caused the amp to blow up and now there is no sound in the speakers.

I can’t see the premium sound options as well in the sound menu so I suspect that it’s definitely the amp.

Now my question is if it’s the full amp that is damaged or is it just the fuse? I spoke to volvo and they are asking £99 for diagnosing and £950 to replace the amp.

All the volvo experts please advise me what’s the best way forward.

Thanks

Pavan

Fuses only tend to blow when there is a significant increase in the load being drawn by the device, & fresh water is unlikely to cause that, However, anyone can check / replace a fuse for free so it seems like the logical place to start. There are plenty of companies that specialize in repairing Volvo head units etc.
