1998 V70 T5 cruise light not working in instrument panel
Hi all
On my 1998 V70 T5 the cruise control works fine, but the Cruise display at the bottom left of the instrument cluster never comes on. All other instrument bulbs are working. This problem has existed from when I owned the car as far as I know. I reached under the dash and removed the relevant small bulb holder and it tested and lit up fine. I then removed the upper dash and replaced all the bulbs (approx 27 of them). They are now all working (but except for the Cruise). Ideas? Steve

I expect the -98 v70 being the same as a -98 c70. There is no cruise control light on the older models, on my -99 c70 there is, on the -98 there isn't.

Ah.
That fits! This a 98 but the only user manual that I could find, showing the instrument panel layout, was for a 1999. Anyway, I have some nice new bulbs in! (And put on a better upper dash which I had sitting around). I'll see if I can find a user manual which shows the bulb layout for 98 and I suspect that it will confirm what you are saying. Thanks. Steve

OK, got it online
http://new.volvocars.com/ownersdocs/...98sv70_019.htm Position 3 was used for the Cruise display on 1999, but seems blank on the 1998. I realise now that I had taken bulb holders out of an spare instrument panel that I had sitting around, and looked through the hole position 3, and saw "Cruise". (That spare panel was from a 1999). But I didn't think to look through the hole in the 1998 panel. I now also notice that the symbols used in my 1998 in positions 15, 16, 20 and 21 are not quite the same as those shown online. Steve
